From November 13th to 14th, the first international forum on "Culture, Media and Digitalization" was successfully held in Moscow, attracting more than 5,000 participants. The forum brought together 100 Russian experts and 28 international guests from 16 countries, covering many fields such as movies, new media, public relations and marketing, information technology, e-sports and game development.
During the two-day meeting, international and local experts discussed 31 topics around five core themes — — Film and new media, AI as a co-creator, virtual space, video games and e-sports, new communication platforms and digital economy of creative industries have jointly discussed the future of creative industries, laying a foundation for international cooperation in content production and distribution.
Focus on movies:The indissoluble bond between internationally renowned directors and Moscow
As one of the important topics in this forum, film has attracted many internationally renowned directors and industry elites to participate.
Emir kusturica, a famous Serbian director, served as honorary chairman of the forum. He said at the opening ceremony: "Moscow is not only a city, but also full of amazing vitality. Moscow has more than 13 million residents, almost twice the population of Serbia. I believe that the vitality of a city stems from people’s frank communication and emotional expression. "
American director oliver stone and French director luc besson were also invited to participate in the discussion in the field of film, discussing the future of film and its evolving role in the creative industry with film critics, senior executives of major Russian streaming media platforms and international media experts.
Luc besson recalled emotionally: "I once filmed in Moscow for a week, and the beauty of this city amazed me. Meeting the Russians was a pleasant experience for me. Every country has something unique, and it is very important to keep people in touch through art. Tarkovsky’s movies are amazing. Recently, I let my son watch The Stalker, and he was deeply attracted. Film is an art that transcends regions and cultures. No matter what happens in the world, it can connect people together. And when I make movies, I always draw inspiration from different places. "
Oliver stone emphasized the eternal charm of movies: "The art of movies lies in telling eternal stories in new ways. We will never get tired of listening to the same stories, because movies can show these stories in novel ways. " He said, "Critics must always keep a keen perspective. I used to think that every movie should be a classic, but this is obviously impossible. Not all movies are destined to be eternal, and this is the driving force for the continuous progress of art. "

Studio CEO France, discussed the role of digital technology in shaping modern media. Victor Levanov from K2 Agency and Timofey Butilin, Marketing Director of Astrum Entertainment, respectively shared the contribution of new media trends and game development in creative technology. In addition, the special discussion of "Love for Moscow" allowed luc besson to share his unique perspective on Russian culture with the audience, and discussed how foreign directors can show Russian human charm through the lens.
