    Yesterday, Mao Zhixiong, Assistant Mayor of Chengdu, reported on behalf of Chengdu Earthquake Relief Headquarters that in response to the public’s report and query about "disaster relief tents appeared in the central city of Chengdu", the relevant departments of Chengdu municipal government have conducted on-the-spot investigation according to the reporting location, and conducted a dragnet investigation in the central city of Chengdu, but no tents were found to be sent to the earthquake-stricken areas.


    Mao Zhixiong said that since May 12, the Chengdu Earthquake Relief Headquarters has distributed 51,870 disaster relief tents, which can ensure that they have been provided to the victims for temporary resettlement.


    Mao Zhixiong also said that at present, the Chengdu Public Security Bureau has carried out further investigation. If disaster relief tents are found to have flowed into the market or used by non-victims, they will be dealt with strictly and severely.
